These are challenging times to be a leader in any organization. Yesterday, I spoke with a friend who lived through the Great Depression. He said that this situation is unlike any he’s seen in his lifetime. There are plenty of books and articles about leading in challenging times, but is there a playbook for leading through difficult economic times, pandemics, and business downsizing. There are some basics for leading through a crisis that pertains to communicating with your employees, and we can also draw on examples of leadership from the past.
